The Apache Portals Meetup brings together users, committers and enthousiasts from Apache Pluto, Jetspeed, Bridges and WSRP4J and other related projects.
Portals have many advantages, which is why they have become the de facto standard for Web application delivery. In fact, analysts have predicted that portals will become the next generation for the desktop environment. Portals distinguish themselves from other software systems because they provide the ability to integrate disparate systems and leverage the functionality provided by those systems. As such, they are not mutually exclusive, and do not force you into an either-or decision vis-a-vis existing software systems.
Meet the people behind the JSR-168 and JSR-286 Portlet specifications.
Are you already working with portals? Or just interested? Join us!
This Meetup will be organized as a low-barrier community driven event and is free to attend. We will have a room and essential infrastructure (wireless network, free drinks) within or nearby the same building as where the ApacheCon is held to organize our mini-conference about anything of interest for the Apache Portals Community.
