Duchess REST Workshop – InfoSupport – March 31, 2009

We are proud to present our next workshop event on REST sponsored by InfoSupport.
REST came about as a simpler alternative to SOAP for building web services, used for integrating different systems. For example, Amazon has offered a REST API for years, while Google has just announced that they are killing their SOAP API and moving to REST. Come learn about REST at our hands-on workshop on March 31 at the InfoSupport office in Veenendaal.

Register for this event on our site.
Fee: 15 euro

Duchess Joins the JCP

March 6, 2009

Taking advantage of the temporary free membership for JUGs, Duchess has just joined the JCP or Java Community Process.

By joining the JCP as an organization, Duchess enables all her members to participate in the community and make use of the results of this participation within any projects or product developments at the organization. JCP proceedings and content are restricted to the organization that you represent. This means that you cannot make contributions on behalf of your company nor can you share with your employer anything that you learned within the JCP. Companies can also contribute to the JCP by becoming a member themselves.

Benefits of membership include being able to contribute directly in the JCP by submitting JSRs for review, serving on JSR Expert Groups, accessing Community Update pages for JSRs, voting in Executive Committee elections, and attending JCP Member online and in-person events. A secondary benefit is the discounts for Java training class in the Sun catalog.

We will have access to a priority code shortly.

Discounts:
* 10% discount on classroom training
* 25% discount on CD-ROM and web-based training
