Duchess heroes

One thing I haven’t yet mentioned in my JAOO report is that a lot of those bigshot speakers also Twitter (and blog of course). This gave me an idea for some neat feature for our site: what if we’d use the @jduchess account to follow all our heroes? And then add a page or something that would show those Tweets. That way people like me who don’t like to follow hundreds of people can check what they have to say every now and then, without actually following everybody.
Of course that leads to the big question: Who are our heroes? Who do we want to follow and what are their Twitternames?
So, leave us a comment! We’d love to hear who they are, what they do to earn the title hero and what their Twittername is.
Duchess is a global network for connecting women in Java technology. Its mission is to promote women in this sector and to provide a platform through which women can connect with each other and get involved in the greater Java community.
I’ll start off with a few of the people that I do already follow.
@marcevers – Marc Evers is a lover of code quality and an agilista. He often posts about the interesting stuff he himself is reading. He is also one of the people whose presentations I always try to follow, along with his other colleagues from QWAN.
@westghost – Rob Westgeest is another lover of code quality and an agilista. Another QWAN-ese.
@most_alive – Willem van den Ende is the third member of the QWAN triumvirate.
@KathySierra – Kathy Sierra is an avid advocate of usability of software.
@javaposse – The Java Posse has their own Twitteraccount.
@nljug – The NL-JUG has a Twitter account too.
